Beijing, China – February 25, 2021 – Redmi, a former sub-brand of Xiaomi, officially did a never heard before. They released Redmi K40 priced at almost 15,000 pesos (CNY 1,999) despite being equipped with a very high-end Redmi K40. You can pick from three colors: Bright Black, Dreamland, and Sunny Snow.
The Redmi K40 shares the AMOLED display that boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate.
To remember, the Redmi K30 Ultra also has the same features but equipped with Miediatek’s Dimensity 1000+ which is inferior to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+. This also means that it is also inferior to Snapdragon 870 because it’s the overclock version of Snapdragon 865+. And now, Redmi released a smartphone that has that kind of specification at the same price.
Redmi gave the processor all the appropriate partner for the job, this includes, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, just like on its Pro version. The basic configuration is very familiar now a days; 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. And some of the configuration has 8 GB of RAM and even 12 GB of RAM are available while the storages goes up to 256 GB.

For the camera, well, it has the same camera sensor and number of pixels that of the Mi 9T. The Redmi K40 has 64 MP elevated by a Sony IMX 582. It’s relatively small but it’s still decent.
Since this is not a pro version, the Redmi K40’s video recording is capped at 4k@30fps, even though the chip, Snapdragon 870, is capable of 8k@30fps and 4k@60fps. The slow-motion feature and the selfie camera has the same features that of the two pro version.
And lastly, kindly remember that this handset is capable of 5G connectivity, which is the new generation of today’s connectivity technology.
