The Capital City of Manila, Philippines – April 26, 2021 – We are happy to have the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold on our hands and conduct our full review. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold, the first-ever foldable phone of Xiaomi, is the successor of Mi Mix 3 and the supposedly Mi Mix 4. It’s a 2-year process for Xiaomi to release this phone tab, and I can say their hard work paid off.
Package
Inside the box, we have the usual things: the device, two jelly cases, warranty card, user manual, and surprisingly, Xiaomi included a wall charger and the Type-C cable.
Build and Design
First thing we noticed is its plastic-like surface when it’s unfolded. We are not sure if it’s a glass or plastic. But it feels sturdy and it feels it can withstand a heavy pressure. According to some sources, the front (unfolded) is plastic, so we are not sure if it’s true or not. Meanwhile, it’s front when it’s folded is clearly 100% glass. It’s either made of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 6 or ceramic. Moving on to its frame, we are a bit disappointed to know that it’s frame is only aluminum. We expect at least a steel frame.
We got an 8.01-inch display (unfolded) and a 6.52-inch display (folded). Surprisingly, the 6.52-inch display can still sport a 2520 x 840 AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the 8.01-inch (unfolded) has a 2480 x 1860 AMOLED display. However, it only supports a 60Hz refresh rate.
Battery and Charging
The Mi Mix Fold has a Li-Po 5020mAh, which is non-removable. It supports up to 67W fast charging. However, when we tried to use the watt meter to measure how much electricity it is consuming while charging, we are bit disappointed that it only consumes 38W to 40W. Although the charging capability is adequate to charge an 18% battery to full in 48 mins.

Not only we checked its charging capability, but we also did a stress score. We got 9hrs and 14 mins.
Gaming
The most exciting thing to do on this phone is its gaming capability. With the help of its Snapdragon 888 processor, we are having an amazing time playing CODM, Genshin Impact, and Mobile Legends. Having a big screen size is really advantageous for your peripheral vision. The only downside of the phone is its refresh rate, which is 60Hz only.
Features
The audio system that is made by HarmanKardon is something we like when we are watching some videos on Netflix. Its desktop mode also impresses us because you can literally use it for content creation and other productive stuff.
Camera
Like the other articles, we would like you to watch our vlog review of the Mi Mix Fold for you to get a better picture of the camera features and especially the liquid lens that Xiaomi is so proud to tell us. You can watch it below.
Price
TBA. We will update this once Xiaomi launch its global variant.
