January 26, 2021 – Beijing, China – Xiaomi, a leading global innovator in the field of IoT or smartphones, released the new version of Mi 10 powered by Snapdragon 870 SoC. As of now, the Mi 10 Series is composed of the following; Mi 10 5G, Mi 10 Pro 5G, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10T 5G, Mi 10T Pro 5G, Mi 10 Lite 5G, Mi 10T Lite 5G, and Mi 10i 5G. If we are going to look at the Mi 10 Series, it is clear that the last three variants don’t have 865 Snapdragon in their vessel.
The Snapdragon 870 SoC is the overclocked version of Snapdragon 865+ – this is according to Qualcomm’s statement. So based on this, the Snapdragon 870 SoC has the same specs and features as that of Snapdragon 865+. However, the only difference is the Snapdragon 870 SoC comes with the prime core clocked at 3.2GHz.

The first-ever smartphone to have the Snapdragon 870 SoC is the Motorola Edge S, which was unveiled today. Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo, iQOO, and realme are the smartphone brands yet to unveiled their smartphones that will use this monstrous processor.

To sum up, the new version of Mi 10 with Snapdragon 870 SoC is only available in China. We are yet to confirm if it will be available globally. According to Digital Chat Station, a content-leaker in weibo, the new variant is a naming recommendation anniversary edition.
