Beijing, China – February 25, 2021 – Redmi, a former sub-brand of Xiaomi, released two high-end smartphones, the Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro+. Yesterday, we made an article for Redmi K40, which is very suitable for people on a budget. Now, we are going to talk about how the two pro versions are worthy of having “Pro” in their names.
All three of the smartphones in the line have 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate, which is one of the highest touch sampling rate we have seen so far.
The first separation of specs at the camera level – the Pro+ has a 108 MP sensor in its main shooter. The pro gets a 64 MP sensor instead. Meanwhile, the base version, Redmi K40, has a 48 MP sensor.
Secondly, let’s have a look at the display. Both pro versions have the Samsung E4 AMOLED panel with 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution. The display supports the DCI-P3 color space and HDR10+. The display earned an A+ mark from DisplayMate. The brightness can be adjusted smoothly in a total of 8,192 steps and peaks at 1,300 nits.
Meanwhile, all three models are packed with a 4520mAh battery and can charge up to 33W on a USB Type-C, which is very standard nowadays. The USB power delivery is 3.0 and QuickCharge is 3.0+. I’m sure you guys are expecting more for the charging capability, however, kindly keep in mind that this series is not a full flagship level. The same option we got from its predecessor.
Since all these smartphones are equipped with the latest two chips from Qualcomm, it’s pretty obvious that all of them will have 6 GHz 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 6.
Moreover, all these smartphones have an IP53 rating this rating can shrug off spraying water and dust. On top of that, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
Redmi boasts their stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certifications. There’s also an X-axis linear motor for better haptic feedback. However, the disappointing thing that I’m sure most of us are not expecting to know that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. So, if you’re planning to buy these phones via Xunnd Philippines once it’s available, make sure you have a Bluetooth ear peripheral or a type-C adapter to 3.5mm headphone jack.
