The world’s favorite robot vacuum brand just got better, after the successful release of the Roborock S5, well obviously the next is the S6. The jump in improvement is quite huge, of course we dont expect it to be like a smartphone, changing a lot of features like pop up camera or under the screen front cam, the improvement on the S6 are mainly on its performance.
While I was personally impressed with the performance of the S5, the S6 can do it even better. Now lets get started!
One of the biggest improvement is that it does not move in squares this time around, the S5 will only go zigzag at a certain portion of the room, then move over to the next square. While the S6 will take a look at the whole floor area, make a blueprint of the area then begin working. This enables it to full navigate the whole area to clean as it will go zigzag until it hits a wall. Another improvement is that when it is about to hit a wall based on its diagram, it will slow down and try not to hit the wall. This will prolong the life of the vacuum especially the dampers and the shock absorbers.
We saw the S5 having a hard time climbing the humps in the house, while in the S6, it is not as hard as the S5. The improved motor power can effectively drive it up the hump as it normally requires more torque to push it up the hump. Now climbing a small hump is as easy as a pie for the S6.
Now this one I believe was the biggest improvement, the main brush mechanism. The biggest improvement is that the sides are removeable, hence you have no more problem removing the hairs **ed at the rollers, I used to use a knife to remove it for the S5.
The also added a new mop, a more fine one for the wood surface its better than the other one, this one leaves less water droplet marks on the surface upon my observation.
Water is now controllable, either you want water flow to be more or less, its now controllable, unlike before it used to be via gravity pull.
This can now run for 2.5 Hours with the build in 5200mAh battery pack installed inside the robot.
Cleaning carpet was now easier, unlike before it was a bit rough for the S5. Cleaning tiles is the same as the S5, nothing has changed much. But did you know that the best part is that the S6 is a lot more quiet than the S5? Based on my testing, it has been a lot more quiet in the evening when there is no noise, as compared the strong suction sound of the S5. Good job on that part!
Unboxing Time!

We see here that there is a new mop in town, the fabric is more fine and it should leave lesser water marks on the floor when it dries up.
