The Capital City of Beijing, China – April 26, 2021 – Digital Chat Station, a well-known digital blogger on Weibo, has posted about the upcoming sensor. With Xiaomi and Samsung’s relationship, Xiaomi may use Samsung’s upcoming 200MP sensor.
Ice Universe, a well-known digital blogger, says that the 200MP sensor will have 0.64 µm pixels, the smallest yet.
IT House has reported that Samsung has previously hinted that it will launch a 200MP (200 million pixels) mobile phone lens, but it has not officially released it until now.
Currently, the 108MP sensors have native 2x or 3x lossless digital zoom capability, which depends on their configuration. Also, top-notch chips are only able to process 8K video at 30fps, they can’t go up to 8K at 60 fps which should be the trend considering the technology that Qualcomm and MediaTek have in their arsenal.
On the other hand, with the help of this 200MP camera sensor, the 8K at 60 fps may become available, and if paired with a higher chip than Snapdragon 888.
To recall, the first-ever sensor to offer more than 100MP sensor was Samsung, and Xiaomi was the first smartphone company to use it on their Xiaomi Mi Note 10. The sensor helped the smartphone to achieve a 121 DxOMark score. It becomes the king of smartphone cameras for several months together with Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
