The Capital City of Beijing, China – June 24, 2021 – Beautiful Technology, a digital tech news page on Weibo, posted what seems to be a court-like order that obliged the blogger to pay Xiaomi more than 7.5 million pesos for leaking Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra.

According to our sources, the blogger is bind with a non-disclosure agreement or embargo. This is common with companies providing the specs of the device or the device itself before its release. The agreement aims to give time for bloggers and vloggers to create content before the day they can release it. This allows the companies (who are doing this) to have a large audience to watch and get a better picture of the product they are presenting.
In this case, we believed that Xiaomi had millions of losses brought by this incident. That’s why they pursued legal action against the publisher. This also reflects that Xiaomi is not tolerating people who break non-disclosure agreements.
Meanwhile, the post aims to acknowledge the mistake and apologize to Xiaomi and its CEO. The blogger even added, “Once again, I apologize to Xiaomi, Mr. Lei Jun, the Xiaomi employees who trust me so much, and all the fans and netizens. I’m sorry. I hope that everyone will not quarrel too much in the comment area because of this matter. I am willing to bear all this, and I should be punished if I did something wrong. I also hope that everyone will learn from it. In the future, I will correct my attitude and keep my feet on the ground. I will never make this kind of mistake again.”

Despite on the wrong side, netizens in the comment section of the post have two sides. The other side wants Xiaomi to be lenient to the publisher since he/she is still a student. On the other hand, the other side wants to honor the decision of the court. Someone even said this, “The contract system determines the social order, and no one has the right to destroy it because of sympathy. Whoever breaks the spirit of the contract will have to pay the corresponding price, regardless of identity.”
The leak about Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
And now, we are wondering if Xiaomi will also take action against Tech Buff PH. To remember correctly, the vlogger posted a video about Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. The vlog depicts the appearance of the device and also some of its specifications and features. The catch here is that the vlogger appears not in a non-disclosure agreement. In addition, we are baffled as to how the vlogger gets his hands on the device months prior to its announcement.
