Design
The Redmi K20 is exactly the same as the one being used by the Mi 9T and when we interchanged the case provided, it fits seamlessly, which proves that the phone itself is exactly the same, just that the Redmi Series will release in China and India while the Mi9T series Globally. Now we see that the screen is a 6.39″ Super Amoled and it totally blows my mind away when watching UHD 4K movies. The glass back is curved to the edge which makes holding the phone enjoyable, and both front and back are protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 similar to the Redmi Note 7, I wonder if I can smash watermelons with this one, just that it might rock the world of the pop up camera’s mechanism. This is a total facelift for the Mi 9 series in my opinion since it took away the notch which is quite undesireable for me.
Display and Audio
We were expecting a lot from the display side as we discovered that its sporting a Samsung AMOLED, this is the first for the Redmi Series. The Full HD display did blew me away with its awesome rendering of photos and videos, and probably one thing that is not good with AMOLED is the burn in problems like those on the Samsung Galaxy Flagship Series that we have heard about. We watched several movies and I can say its pretty crisp and detailed especially playing 4K quality movies. The sound was excellent, especially the loudspeaker it was really really loud! Even it is not stereo sounds, but it really blew me away when it said WELCOME TO MOBILE LEGENDS. Bluetooth connectivity of headset is also no problem on this unit upon transferring files from Mi MIX 3, Mi Drop was also seamless. Playing games like PUBG was not a problem tho we cannot access the highest definition, just don’t forget to access the Mi Game Turbo Mode inside the security app.
Please watch this under UHS 4K setting as I render the goodness of the display of Redmi K20.

Snapdragon 730
One of the few devices that sports the latest 7 Series chipset from Qualcomm is Redmi K20, the Snapdragon 730 SoC has 8 cores and can run up to 2.2Ghz of computing speed. Now of course powered together with the Adreno 618, and of course a generous serving of 6GB or 8GB of RAM, it will give you the best midrange experience up to date. Not mentioning that it can run even the most graphics hungry games like PUBG and NBA 2K19, not to mention Mobile Legends. We ran several stress test on this unit and we did not see any lags nor any slowdown on the opening of any apps in the Redmi K20, multitasking was a breeze. I can only say that it is almost as good as last year’s flagship processor the SD 845.
Antutu rewarded it with a 212,897 which is not bad as compared to last years SD 845 inside the Mi8 scoring around 250k points.

Camera:
The Redmi K20 is have one of the better cameras in the market right now, of course not better than that of the Redmi K20 Pro. I was impressed by the camera shots that I took, even on low lights its still a performer, even the EIS was not bad and it wasn’t really shaky even that I intentionally shake the camera while taking sample videos.

Redmi K20 Battery and Benchmark:
The Redmi K20 supports the Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 and up to 18W of speed. We charged the Redmi K20 and it took in 9V 2.1 Amperes based on our testing using the supplied charger and cable. We charged the phone from 18% to 100% in just 1 hour and 31 minutes and it was quite good for a 4000mAh capacity phone. We recorded a 14 hour 36 minutes endurance test Redmi K20 6GB/128GB version under the PC Mark battery stress test. If these statistics are true on a normal daily use, then it’s really a good sign for the said smartphone, and based on my daily usage for several days, the battery almost last me a day without hitting the charging dock. The SD 730 is known to be more battery efficient than the more powerful SD 855.
Verdict
The Redmi K20 is definitely a performer of its class, utilizing the SD 730 which is more power efficient that the SD 855, this phone is better aimed at the more daily users and non gamers as it can last you longer throughout the day. The camera is quite good tho compared to the K20 Pro it is still a bit behind but not far. This is for sure a good upgrade from the Redmi Note 7 and by far I’m lovin the performance.
