Many of us are leaning toward having a smart and safe home, and one way to achieve that is to be equipped with the right gadget like the Mi Smart Sensors by Xiaomi. One of the good thing about this automation is its practically so easy to setup and use, once you have sync it with the Mi Home App and its placed in the proper location, then you are practically set to have a smart home.
Here we are and we have the set here in our hands, this awesome smart home set was just available for China for the longest time until now that they decided to expand themselves outside China.
Now let us identify the different sensors inside the Mi Smart Sensor box set shall we.
The Control Hub or what we call the Gateway, this device is the mastermind, I mean the central unit wherein every sensors of this set will pass thru this hub for commands and proper coordination. Lets just think that this is the server and its the only unit that connects to the internet to tell you whats happening around your house thru the Mi Home App. This main device have a speaker, it can alarm and even have a night lamp around it so that it can illuminate should you want it to light up at night.
The wireless switch, this switch is just like a doorbell, you can place it on the door should you want it to act as a doorbell as long as you declare on the Mi Home App its function when pressed, on a normal basis its best used as a doorbell and mounted outside the door. The central hub will play some doorbell tunes once someone pressed this button.
The motion sensor’s main job is to practically sense something moving inside an enclosed space. Normally this is best placed inside the main door or inside the bedroom door, as you can declare it as when you sense a motion, turn on lights. You can also declare it on multiple declaration like when you sense a motion entering the bedroom, turn on door, turn on Mi TV, turn on air purifier and turn on Mi Humidifier.
For the final sensors, the Door/Window sensor, this goes by its meaning, well if someone opened the window or door it will notify you. But what if there are frequent opening of doors on your house like every now and then your kids are going in and out of the house, it will such a drag if your alarm keeps beeping right? You can set the timer now, from 9pm to 5am, if there is someone opening the door, the main hub will sound off and notify you that someone might have probably breached the security and entered your house.
Now I have thoroughly explained the usage of each sensor, I will make a next thread on how to deploy them, stay tunned for my next awesome article on the Mi Smart Sensors.
Bye for now!
