The City of Beijing – August 27, 2021 – Amidst the rollout of MIUI 12.5, Xiaomi announces the rollout of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition on nine Mi 10 and Mi 11 models for global users. According to Xiaomi, the difference between the standard MIUI 12.5 is that the enhanced version is more focused on system optimizations that will bring users a swifter and lower power consumption experience.
Xiaomi highlighted in their announcement that the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced will offer all-around optimizations from the core framework level all the way to upper applications.
For users who will opt into MIUI 12.5 Enhanced, there will be a storage mechanism called Liquid Storage. The feature will keep your system vibrant and responsive over time according to Xiaomi. The efficiency of disk defragmentation has increased a significant amount. Even after months of use, performance remains strong, Xiaomi added.
On the other hand, its Atomized Memory feature will focus more on ultra-fine memory management to make RAM usage more efficient. For example, if you’re splitting application memory and closing unimportant tasks, the Atomized Memory feature mechanism sleeks memory usage.
Lastly, the new algorithms of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition will dynamically allocate system resources based on usage scenarios to ensure a smooth experience on your device. The new algorithms will help reduce CPU usage while power saving is improved.
This is the first batch of Xiaomi phones that will receive the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition:
- Mi 11
- Mi 11 Ultra
- Mi 11i
- Mi 11X Pro
- Mi 11X
- Mi 10T Pro
- Mi 10T
- Mi 10 Pro

In case you’re using a Chinese-ROMed Xiaomi phone, you should be able to update your OS-skinned to MIUI 12.5. If not capable, it may not eligible for now.
